My Hero

Just talked to Todd a bit ago. He finished the whole triathlon!!! He originally thought he'd be in too much pain to do it at all then thought he'd at least try the swim and bike and just see how far he could make it. With the group going down early Friday they got to do a test swim in the lake that day and a practice bike yesterday. He was feeling confident enough last night to give the whole thing a go. He said he had some pain starting out in the swim but got through it, the bike wasn't too bad other than he hadn't biked for so long that he got stiff being hunched over. He had to walk the first few miles of the run and then was able to run the last few miles. I'm so proud of him and so relieved that it's over. I hope he didn't do anymore harm to his back. He says he's fine sitting but when he tries to stand he's in a lot of pain. No different than any other day I guess. The boys and I can stop worrying!

He'll even be home in time for supper....Dad and Nate are coming over to eat since Mom is still out of town. Drew is making two of the desserts he made in his cooking class this past week.....Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Rocky Road Candy. How can you go wrong with chocolate, peanuts and marshmallows?? He's also doing his famous breadsticks and I'm making homemade turkey meatballs, pasta, and a fruite tray. We'll celebrate with Todd.

Todd had the camera all weekend so I'm sure I'll post some pictures on my blog later. Just wanted to pass on the news b/c I'm excited for him (and relieved!)

He told me he had talked to you and I'm glad he did. I know you would have honest with him on what he was doing and if it was ok. Doesn't mean he'd listen but still.... :)
