Alfie is 4 years old today. We just had a birthday party. The puppies had ice cream.

Maggiano's

As you know, Mom and Dad celebrated their birthday this weekend in St. Louis. Todd and I were lucky to be able to take them out for supper at Maggiano's for their Anniversary gift. We were in St Louis because Todd surprised me with tickets for the two of us to see the American Idol concert. (AWESOME by the way). I have always wanted to eat at Maggiano's because I've heard nothing but good things about it but it's not a place I'd want to take kids and we're hardly ever there without them. So it was a huge treat for us too. We snapped some pictures outside of the restaurant on our way out. Thanks for spending some of your special time with us Mom and Dad. It was fun and all that delicious food makes me want to go back again!

Slater Creek Farm Update

Here's the pups. Tess is on the left and Champ is on the right. Tess is the troublemaker and Champ likes to lay around more. They are both adorable.

Here is a tree frog Riley found. She then put it in this tree to watch it change colors. She loves her slimy creatures.

Brandon had a tree project for school. He did an awesome job and little sis tried to help.

Here are the newest members of the farm. On the left is Madeline. On the right is Buttercup. They are both meat goats and hopefully (if pregnant) will give birth to twins around late October to early November. So far, they are a little skittish but calmed down after a couple of hours in their new home.

Finally, my favorite picture of the pups. Deb caught them at just the right time. This could be one of those calendar pictures. They are growing quick.

Tickets prices for the Slater Creek Farm petting zoo will be going up in the Spring. Better come visit soon.

Baby Thiessen Update

Just wanted to update everybody... we had another doctor's appointment today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. As soon as the doctor put the doppler on my stomach, we were able to hear the heartbeat. He did not tell us how many beats per minute but did say it was a nice, strong beat. Didn't learn much else. We return to the doctor on Sept. 21. Thanks to Deb Stotts we were lucky to see the baby on an ultrasound 10 days ago... so all is well in baby-world to this point.

Ian at the ballgame

Went to a Columbus Clippers game last night. The weather was perfect and Ian loved watching the Indians farmteam play. He also got to meet Slider but wasn't too impressed.

Davenport last week-end

Went to Kris and Brian's last week-end and had a good time. The Bix 7 race was going on and attracts lots of people. Great food downtown, we had Greek food. Went on a bike ride at the trail near their house. It's 7.5 miles one way but we didn't do the whole thing, probably rode 8-10 miles.
