Flashin' Back OR Just Plain Flashy!

I was going through some old pictures yesterday and came across this one from college. We dressed Todd up in a curly black wig from Kathy's Halloween costume and put some very flattering makeup on him. We decided he made an ugly woman. Thanks Todd for always being a good sport with us girls and humoring us even when we are being wierd. And to think it wasn't long after this picture that we got engaged! He had me at the lipstick. NOT!

(Upon closer inspection....I'm really hoping we put him in that ugly shirt too. I'd hate to think he wore that over to our house! LOL)

It's hard to believe that you would have been 84 today. We still miss you, Dad.

Just thought I would post some new pictures of Ian. He is becoming much more attentive and seems to actually be focusing on things in his sight. Ian seems to enjoy looking at himself in the mirror and he likes to be read to. He is growing like crazy and weighs 11 pounds 10 ounces.

A Day With Nate

(I told mom to email me these pics so I could post them for her....hopefully I can remember all the facts correctly!)

On Sunday mom and dad drove to Charleston to spend the day with Nate and have one last hurrah with him before graduation. They had gorgeous weather (much better than ours was here) and had a great time with Nate and his friends, getting to see campus and have some fun.

The first picture is in front of EIU and the castle. Pretty cool....how many universities have a castle??? I love this picture because mom looks so happy and proud.

This is Jerry's Pub (obviously). This is where Nate works and where they ate at.....mom says their pizza is delicious.....and apparently their alcohol is too. Just sayin', Dad. (I know the guy on the far right is his roomate Chris from Quincy, not sure who the other guy is)
Nate's House. This one didn't make mom cry like the last one did. She did say she didn't venture into the bathroom though.

It's hard to see in the picture but the rock says '09 on it in commemoration of something from 1909....but mom and dad say it's Nate's graduation rock!

Lumpkin Hall School of Business where Nate will graduate from. Yes, I said Lumpkin.....not to be confused with Bumpkin. Nate, I'm sorry, you will probably here some jokes on that one.

All in all, it sounded like a great day and I'm glad they got to have that special time with Nate. I'm looking forward to going there to visit at Nate's Graduation.....I'm sure I will shed a tear or two.

Wanted to pass along some new pictures. Ian weighs over 10 # now. We hope to get back up there in about a month. He's changing so fast.

I thought this picture was SO cute of the girl cousins 'in the day'. Hard to believe ALL these girls are on their way to being "old married ladies" (well not really old, but it is just a saying) So congrats to Krissy and Suzie on your upcoming nuptuals, and to Jill and Kelly for being such good examples for ALL your cousins.

HAPPY 31st ANNIVERSAY HONEY

On March 6th of 1978 I met a very special guy. He was suffering after just attending the funeral of his childhood friend Dan, and feeling brave enough to approach me and determined enough that not to not take NO for an answer. God answered my prayers that night, and I like to think He gave Joe a new best friend in life. So Happy Anniversary Honey, and I thank you for all you've meant to me in my life, for all you've given me, for your love, your care, and for our three sons, who mean the world to me.

Butt Out

I came across this picture the other day and it always makes me laugh. Todd took this picture of Beth, Matt, and I's butts as we tried to get all of the kids arranged on the couch for a picture. (this was taken in December of 2005). Even now, you will see us trying to get everyone rounded up and sitting still and then we all jump away and start taking pictures quickly. It's always hit or miss with us. So we also have a "behind the scenes" shot of trying to get a grandkids shot!
